About Attorney Eric Lewis

A native born and educated Hoosier, Mr. Lewis concentrates his legal practice on consumer bankruptcy and general civil litigation. At the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, Mr. Lewis chartered and served as Chairman of the Animal Law Society, a division of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Under Mr. Lewis' direction, the ALS grew membership devoted to the cause of reigning in animal abuse and advocating the General Assembly to support and pass more strict laws to punish animal abusers.

Prior to the inception of Lewis Legal Services, Mr. Lewis worked for several well-respected law firms and also one of the largest bankruptcy law firms in the Midwest. Mr. Lewis has litigated on behalf of the consumer against corporations large and small in numerous cases and is dedicated to "fighting for the little guy." Mr. Lewis started Lewis Legal Services with the commitment and firm belief in providing affordable legal counseling and representation with dedication and personal attention to each client - a practice far too unknown to many law firms today.

Skills matter

One of the most important things about any lawyer's practice is how he or she stays up to date on current trends and developments in the law. To ensure this, most states condition the renewal of one's license to practice law on the completition of minimum continuing legal education known as MCLE or simply CLE. In Indiana, a lawyer must have a minimum of 36 hours of CLE in a 3-year reporting period. By far, most lawyers will only do that bare minimum and believe it or not, some lawyers don't even do that!

Mr. Lewis makes it a priority to stay up on legal developments and routinely accumulates well over the minimum requirement of lawyers. For the current three year period, Mr. Lewis accumulated 95 hours of CLE. Mr. Lewis believes that clients benefit from a lawyer who is up to date on ever-changing laws, regulations and procedures and genuinely believes that staying up on current developments provides the skills that matter and make the difference.
